It is a cute, amazingly beautiful, authentic game about a wombat wandering through the Australian Bush.We went on a camping trip into the Bush to record sounds for it, and they proved indispensable in the sound design, making up a large proportion of it. Much of the ambient audio includes the sounds recorded on this trip, as well as around 75% of all the Foley sound effects. Team Bondi created the original LA Noire with Rockstars help, so it was a very interesting experience having the opportunity to take the deep dive back in to the original world of LA Noire and polish it up for VR.</div><div>The sound by and large stood the test of time. We had the opportunity to provide a lot of polish however, and are very proud with the results, which will trickle out to Switch and the other release platforms.</div><div>We also had the opportunity to record a number of new sounds for the increase in sophistication that the new props handling systems brought to the game. Being a VR title, many objects can now be interacted with in a fairly realistic fashion, meaning props need much more variation to their sound. This required a mammoth amount of recording of new pickup and putdown sounds, over 2000 in fact. And once these were recorded they needed to be edited and exported. Using Reaper DAW turned into a huge time-saver for this process. It was a great creative head-space to be in, the perfect contrast to our other game audio projects. We were surprised and excited to find we had contributed to two of them: Frictional Game's SOMA got a nod, as did the beautiful Alto's Adventure. We contributed voice design to SOMA - all the audiologs and datamines and cassette tapes in the game. And for Alto's Adventure we designed the entire soundscape with implementation by the brilliant Harry Nesbitt. Wow what an experience. We created all the datamines and audiologs and all the old in-game voice recordings. It was incredible being part of the team. Everyone involved is at the top of their game. The game takes place on an island with a functioning eco-system and offers huge potential to enhance the game's immersion through audio.</div><div>Bringing this world to life is proving to be incredibly rewarding already. We are going totally realistic with most aspects of the audio so players can feel totally engaged with the world. We are working on creating a dynamic and generative ambient audio system that takes into account wind, rain, surf and time of day to give an ever evolving bed on which to sit its brutal world.</div><div>The fauna of the world also plays a part, giving food, warning of dangers or providing supplies. We are using their own flight or fight instincts to provide auditory signal that the player can use to further their survivability.</div><div>We are incredibly honored to be a part of this game.
